Xander and Mommy!

My Face is Chubby...

I'm smiling right now because I put on my headphones after hearing "Mommy" five times (They are in bed and trying to milk every moment they can to stay awake).  Listening to Billy Joel sing, "I don't care what you say, this is my life," I feel liberated!  Yes, I'm that kind of Mom!

I've been preparing to start P90X...for those of you who don't know what that stands for, neither do I!  I just know that it's an intense 90 day, 1 hour workout that includes a bland diet and a buff looking guy who keeps saying, "Embrace the struggle."  I'm embracing a little craziness, but, I'm in it for 90 days!!

This morning my husband and I enjoyed a quiet breakfast at LePeeps.  It was quite lovely until we started talking about P90X.  Then the "dreads" slowly crept into my gut.  My husband, trying to motivate me, begins to explain that when I gain weight it tends to go to my face first.  Before you get angry with my husband I have to tell you that this is something he would never say to me normally.  I knew he was trying to get me fired up so I would hit the yoga mat!  It worked!  Tomorrow at 5:30 a.m.  I will drink my pre-workout drink and warm up my stiff muscles and quickly begin to sweat.

Wish me luck, pray for endurance and throw in some encouragement!

Mel

  1. My prayers are with you through these next 90 days. Remember that this is all you and God. You and He knows your limits and how far you can push them. Don't give up if you feel like you are not making progress or it seems too hard. Everything, especially exercise is hard at first. It will all be worth it in the end and you will be even hotter than you are now!! Todd better watch out :

  2. Hey Melissa! Loving seeing you blogging :-)
I started Body-for-Life three days ago & exercising at Jazzercise. Sigh... right now Eisley is having a tantrum, Violet is fussy, and Justin is in the middle of a 12 day work week. All I can think of right now is: I need wine, I need Starbucks, I need chocolate. Over and over.

Anyway - good luck, I believe in you! Keep up the good work & best wishes. Let's support each other to becoming healthier mommies!
